Trisha Paytas is once again on the minds of conspiracy theorists after King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis yesterday. If you missed this totally unexpected theory, you’re probably wondering what the hell the YouTube star and the monarch have in common. Well, back in Sept. 2022, rumors circulated that Paytas — who uses they/them pronouns — gave birth to their daughter on the day Queen Elizabeth II died.

And so, naturally, the internet was convinced that Paytas gave birth to a reincarnation of the late Queen.

“Yesterday on the internet, I, for some reason, was trending,” Paytas said in a video a day later where they were clearly still pregnant. “…This was attention I did not want.”

They went on to say it “felt weird” and “in poor taste” to comment on the situation on the day of the Queen’s passing.

“There was a great tragedy … I felt weird that people were meme-ing this death,” Paytas said, “I didn’t want to make it about me. I’m so sorry to the royal family that my name was even trending under the Queen’s, I was just so embarrassed.”

” … I did not have my baby and there is no reincarnation of the Queen in my baby,” they continued.

On Sept. 14, they welcomed their daughter Malibu Barbie Paytas-Hacmon with husband Moses Hacmon.

As soon as Paytas announced in Nov. 2023 that they were pregnant, the internet was all aflutter. “King Charles you will start to cough in 7 days,” one person tweeted, implying that Baby No. 2 would be the reincarnation of King Charles III.

Just three months later, he was diagnosed with cancer. A coincidence? The internet thinks not. Especially given the fact that Paytas plans to name their second daughter Elvis. AKA The King.

“If i had a nickel for every time trisha paytas’ baby coincided with the downfall of the royal family id have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice,” one person said.

“if Trisha Paytas has enough babies we might be able to end the monarchy,” another said.

Paytas tweeted, “Literally no comment” with an eye roll emoji.

We have to imagine they’re feeling similarly to how they did back before Malibu Barbie’s birth. The internet sensation said the rumors made them “sad.” “My baby is not even born and she’s just like this joke of the internet,” Paytas said. “Please be kind to my baby. She deserves love and respect.”
